Air Change celebrates WIN of prestigious Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) Award
13th April 2010
Air Change scooped the ESD award at the 2010 ARBS Industry Awards with the Green Building Air Handling Unit (GB AHU). The GB AHU is an energy efficient heat recovery system that automatically selects the most economical mode to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions, whilst providing superior indoor air quality to increase employee health, morale and productivity. The core heat exchange technology in the GB AHU has been developed and internationally patented by Air Change.
The award application was based around key product performance and efficiencies of the GB AHU installation, within the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Campus (CBC), which accommodates around 3,000 employees at Sydney Olympic Park. Air Change estimated the annual savings from all the GB AHU units in the CBC project to be 419,463kW hours, equivalent to 386 tonnes of CO2 emissions saved per annum.
The building, targeting a 5 Star NABERS rating was constructed by Bovis Lend Lease with consultants Aurecon and mechanical contractors Hastie Australia.
The GB AHU is an authentically Australian developed product ready for the global battle to reduce CO2 emissions.
